It’s been long since young Tiger NTR held either sword or axe to slay the villain’s heads endlessly…Might be dating back to “Simhadri”. So Boyapati Seenu who gave “Simha” to Baabai approached “Abbai” with a power packed theme and thus we have “Dhammu” that released this week. Keeravani scored music for the movie.
Plot: It’s a story of two villages that fight and kill each other every moment. One Village is headed by Crooked Naazer and the other by Suman. And the story is all about NTR’s connection and arrival to these villages and how he ends this rivalry.
Actors:
NTR has donned a similar terrific role in Simhadri before and “Aadi” in very beginning. So this is a cake walk for him. He looks charming in that wide moustache and his role is seen with more maturity. Though there are no much sparks in dances this time, He spills out good dialogues in regular intervals and overall he has much better amongst his recent films.
Trisha looked older than NTR and is a mismatch. Karteeka looks always cause damage though she did well. Abhinaya as NTR’s sister has no much role as anticipated.
Venu is seen in important role and he better continue in such roles. “Sitara” pair Suman and BhanuPriya are seen as NTR parents.
Naazer steals the show to an extent playing the main villain. He is kind of big support. Ali, Brahmanandam don’t offer much laughs, Kota plays regular grandfather.
Dhammu Ingredients
An interesting flashback in the beginning shown in black and white, (of course almost allow guessing the climax). Goose bumping action-packed interval…some slight dose of sentiment…add few twists before the pre-climax…appetizing action packed pre-climax…and almost ok climax makes the Dhammu movie. In between we have these love track comprising 2 heroines who don’t care about NTR unless there is song to be played.
Boyapati shines in quiet some scenes…”where NTR comes to villains home in chariot and warns...” Interval episode...Preclimax. Keeravani has given very good background score.
Highlights…
Trailers showing loads of action bits actually lured many to the theatres and they don’t disappoint. The interval block is one that surely gets some applause for the build-up and right execution. Pre-climax fight in the fields has almost similar good value. Dialogues penned to comment the “Ruling Party” clicked. Fans might be happy for NTR’s “Political entry” dialogues in opening fight. Among the songs, “Raaju Vachinaado” is very nicely shot.
Drawbacks…
Heroines though don’t have importance, they don’t even help to add the charm in their limited presence. Thus songs became a drawback also due to wrong placements. “Ruler” song should have been shot in much much better way. Some screenplay jerks and twists that are revealed actually don’t surprise the audience. Showing a huge violent movie and singing “Mustafa Mustafa” in climaxes don’t suit especially the high voltage action movies.
Finally
Action episodes and NTR are the major attraction and a decent story(not fresh one though) pulling the film to certain extent. Huge cast and lavish outlook is also a plus. Movie with strong climax and improved screenplay would have been better. As Trailers already reveals 50% of good, do expect low and you might like it more. Surely a good one for B,C centers if not for A
