Nithin is more than fresh as ever after the successful "Ishq" and he has chosen yet again a romantic entertainer and made sure he had his lady luck Nithya Menon pair with him. And he has titled it “Gunde jaari gallantayyinde” a phrase from his ‘latest’ idol Pawan Kalyan. So definitely the film after “Ishq” and moreover with the same pair would bring loads of expectations and let’s see if they are captured right!!
Plot : Karthik (Nitin), a happy go-lucky software guy falls for Sruthi (Isha Talwar) in first sight. But due to wrong “Fancy” telephone number connects with Shravani (Nithya) . So it’s all about the twists in this triangular…uff ok quadrangular story..as we have one more guy Madhu whom Sruthi loves.
Actors:
Nithin is confident enough now. His act is decent though there is lot of scope for improvement in comedy timing. He dances pretty well. He makes sure he cheers Pawan fans.
Nithya and her acting are just half-cute this time. Her drawback with height is highlighted by director himself, which makes her defective in whole.
Isha Talwar has that “Talwar” looks..but she has to take few acting classes. Other guy Madhu acted decently and in fact creates some laughs due to his innocence.
It would have been respectful if Jwala Gutta acted in a sports film rather than a item song.
Ali, Ahuthi Prasad, Sudha and Tagubotu Ramesh are very few actors in film who are good in their short stints.
Now Let’s match up with our expectations…
When we go to theatre having “Ishq” in mind, surely we do expect a better entertainer. Remember “Ishq” is unexpected sweet treat for us. But Nithin has chosen a rather very lightly connecting love story for “Gunde jaari gallantayyinde”. The basic theme of saying that Love is not physical is nice, but the execution lacked a wholesome entertainment.
Vijay Kumar Konda though have chosen tricky plot, he unfolds it nicely for the first half. Audience mindset will be open for the first half as they expect lot more in latter half. So unfolding characters and revealing the twists in interval makes this half fair enough. But trouble shoots in second half, when there’s no much to say. The unnecessary phone-game kills lot of screen time and leads to boredom. So the scenes involving Nithin and Nithya over phone lacks depth ( reminds you Bodyguard movie). But the scenes that have Nithin , Isha and other guy will have some laughs.
Positive points :
Songs given by Anup are decent and are pictured well. But Anup disappoints with back ground music. Pawan Kalyan is being used liberally. Un dos tres song from Toliprema is used and pictured nicely and you can see glimpse of Pawan, Though it is graphic, it seems very real and nice. Basic plot and overall movie is clean. Few scenes are hilarious and few crucial scenes are dealt well.
To sum it up:
There are few moments that are entertaining and few convincing. Additional care should have been taken about the dragging second half and lack of solid entertainment. Nevertheless Nithin pleases his fans after "Ishq". So he is completely back in form!!
